The G Academy

An online school built around people, not textbooks.

Because real communication is messy, spontaneous, imperfect and human — and learning should be too.

Gisele, founder and teacher at The G Academy

G.

Originally, it was simply my initial — G for Gisele. As the academy grew, it came to mean something much bigger.

Going further

Opening doors you did not know were there.

Knowing the words is not the same as feeling ready to speak.

In 2020, while teaching students from different countries and backgrounds, I noticed that many already knew the grammar and vocabulary. What held them back was confidence — the fear of making a mistake, sounding silly or not understanding.

I wanted to create a learning experience where your goals, interests, culture and personality matter. A place where mistakes are not failure, but part of the process.

No two learners are the same. So why should they all learn the same way?

Meet Teacher G

Oi pessoal! I'm Gisele — but my students call me Teacher G.

I'm Brazilian, born and raised, and I now live in Porto, Portugal. I've spent over eight years helping English speakers find their voice in Portuguese — and most of my students are learning for someone they love: a partner, in-laws, a grandmother who only speaks Portuguese. Those conversations matter, and that's exactly what we practice.

Behind the scenes: I'm an educator with a Bachelor's in Education and a Master's specializing in E-Learning, I speak native Portuguese, English, Spanish and a little Italian — and I'm probably planning my next trip back to Brazil.

Off camera: behind the serious teacher face, I love a good glass of wine and travelling — I love sports, people and good conversation, so I live life to the fullest. I'm a proud pet parent to Pepsi, my very trilingual assistant and travel partner. And I truly love what I do — so let's make learning fun for me and for you.

I answer personally — usually within a day.
